HENLEY ON THAMES AMATEUR OPERATIC AND DRAMATIC SOCIETY

AGM - 2nd September 2002 - The Green Room

The Annual General Meeting was held in the Green Room with the President, Simon Williams, in the chair. Simon, who had travelled from Coventry where his adaptation of Hound of the Baskervilles is currently showing, was re-elected as President of the Society. Also elected as Vice Presidents were Mr & Mrs John Luker and local TV producer Simon Langton. Grainne Keegan was re-elected as the Honorary Secretary and the new committee was elected with Terry Rymer as Chairman.

The meeting heard of a successful year for the Society, both in terms of productions and social events with donations being agreed for five local charities - Chiltern Air Ambulance, Henley MS, Sue Ryder, Headway and Friends of Henley Hospital.

Mention was made regarding Teeth - which under Heather Simpkin's direction, took second place at the Kenton Festival and first place at the Wallingford Festival. Rebecca, directed by Julie Huntington was awarded Runner-Up for the NODA Ron Kench Regional Drama Award.

Other productions mentioned were Kiss Me Kate, directed by Julia Rymer, and The Merry Widow , directed by Michael Huntington.

The HAODS website was available for members to view, with Jane Shaw & Bill Cummine there to answer any questions regarding the site.
