Henley/Wallingford/Shinfield
Drama Festival Entry |

We entered three
Drama Festivals this year, with the witty Immobiles by Michael
Frayne and I must say, I feel I have lived with it forever. |
|
We had
a disappointing result at Henley, mainly due to the exploding answer
machine being disallowed. However, at Wallingford we won the Adjudicators
Prize - his comment was that the memory of the answer machine
exploding would abide with him for a very long time! At Shinfield we won
the Ada Cook Shield for Best in Adult Class and the Shinfield
Players Theatre Award for the Overall Festival Winner. We were also
nominated for Best Stage Set, Best Director and Best Actor (Richard
Evans)so we were justly rewarded for all the hard work that went into the
production. |
|
My grateful thanks to
Derek Gilbert and Laurie Anness for mastering the most complicated
lighting & sound plots ever! Also to Dan Powell and Jackie Snellgrove
for their efficiency as Stage Manager and Assistant . A great BIG thank
you to the cast for being so brilliant, John Huntley for being a general
dogs body and all of you who supported us. Julie H. |
