World War II Revisited
|
|
To commemorate the 60th Anniversary of
VE Day 1945 – 2005 |
|
This show opens to a full stage
orchestra playing, on fake, instruments “Chatanooga Choo Choo”,
It’s the Glenn Miller Band!! |
|
As the show progresses all the band
members perform different parts to portray various events in WWII, from
the Andrews Sister “Roll out the Barrel” to “When The Lights go on
Again”. Almost every well-known song of the period is sung: Berkeley
Square, We’ll Meet again, White Cliffs of Dover, Run Rabbit, etc. |
|
Everyone gets a chance to act, sing,
and impersonate, from ARP wardens, Tommy Handley, Chamberlain, Winston
Churchill, “Jane”. We have evacuees, Alvar Liddell, Lord Haw Haw,
The Battle of Britain, a Lancaster raid, Max Miller, George Formby, Rita
Hayworth, the Home Guard, Gert and Daisy, even Adolf Hitler! We have
land girls and the Radio Doctor. |
|
As this will be the 60th anniversary I
understand this could be a big event nationwide and we could be included
with links to the British Legion, American Forces, etc. |
